Amaro Gayo is a washing station where local growers bring their freshly picked, ripe cherry for processing. Asnakech is said to be very strict in selecting which coffees will be processed at her washing station and mill, choosing only ripe and ready cherry. The final step in natural processing, drying, is critically important one.    Processing Method : Natural Grade :  Strictly Hard Bean Cherries are dried on raised beds (similar to the ones pictured on the left). Raised beds are a great way to dry cherries– they allow no contact with the soil, resulting in a much cleaner coffee. They also provide even aeration, in which the dry air can reach the bean from both above and below the beds. Consistency! After drying, mature cherries are sent to Amaro Gayo's "eco-friendly" pulping machine, which uses far less water than most mills.    CUP CHARACTERSTICS :  Lush, blackberry and blueberry fruit flavors, powerful. Agressive and complex acidity, with notes of both dry, red wine and lemons. Layers of puckery, citrus fruits, mostly grapefruit. Thick body, chocolate mouthfeel.   The Amaro Mountains are a small range separating the communities of Amaro on the eastern slopes from Nechisar National Park and the lowland tribal areas of Arba Minch in southwest Ethiopia, Sidama region. The local coffee varieties, relatively light population, waterfalls and highland bamboo forests are among the many unique features of the area. Altitude : 5200 feets ( 1100 Meters) Harvest : October-February Varietal: Indigenous arabica 

As in the case of many transitional companies, KK PLC started its operation with practically very little resources. KK PLC represents a number of manufacturers and suppliers from different countries, especially from Asia, namely Hanil Fiber Corporation of Korea, Geetangali Woolen of India and Sany Heavy Industry of China. In addition to the business activities mentioned above KK PLC had, in the year 2009, entered into the exporting of coffee, oilseeds, pulses, cereals and spices. Future Mid-Short Term Prospects The Company's belief in comprehensive growth is the foundation of its diversified business interest. Its vision encompasses in the development of agricultural inputs and outputs. To promote this business unit, KK PLC is currently pursuing a strategy of expanding its area of investment into a large-scale commercial farming and afro-processing. The investment is sought in the production and processing of diversified agricultural crops such as coffee, tea, sugar, flowers, fruits and vegetables, wheat, maize, beans, peas, lentils, soybeans, chickpeas, etc., starch production, oil crops such as rapeseed, linseed groundnuts, sunflower, sesame, maize, niger seed, and cotton seed. Investment is also envisaged in the import and provision of agricultural support services, such as pest and disease control, as well as fertilisers. However, the development of this rich and immense resource necessitates cooperation with international business organizations which are capable of supplying the essential technological know how and capital inputs.
