The prepared veg lines are processed year round in the high care facility within the Sunripe packhouse located within the specialised freight area of the Jomo Kenyatta International airport perimeter. The Packhouse is certified to BRC Higher Level. The Packhouse is also certificated to pack Organic fruit and vegetables.
The facility has been redeveloped to accommodate larger orders. The expansion, primarily of the high care processing areas provides for more volume throughput, greater flexibility for more product permutations & the inclusion of an organic section to the high care processing hall.
The facility is supported by an increase in processing equipment, increased coldroom space and blast chiller facilities This end result is a quadrupling of the present packing capacity. A new second packhouse is in place for packing of avocados.
We also grow Organic Sweet Corn, Organic Fine Beans, Organic Fine Beans, Organic Sliced, Runners, Organic Baby Corn, Organic Baby Leeks, Organic Runner Beans, Organic Carrots & Baby Cron, Organic Baby Leeks etc.
Sunripe owns a fully integrated freight forwarding business - Freight in Time (FiT) - this vertical integration is essential in this industry
FiT now operates a scheduled freighter service twice per week in to Manston. This will double to four flights every week into the EU.
In addition to this FiT have contracted space with leading Air Lines to deliver our produce regularly to Europe. All shipments are built up onto aircraft units at the Desptch cold store at Sunripe, within the cargo perimeter of the JKIA & then pulled to the aircraft directly.
