Funzi Furniture Factory was established in Kenya in 1991 by Michael J Calnan (CV), an Australian by birth. Having travelled most of Europe and Africa during the seventies he now lives and works on the beach in Tiwi just south of Mombasa. Funzi Furniture factory manufactures traditional African furniture with a unique touch by employing the best craftsmen in Kenya.

From four poster beds to stools, the full range. From cushions to curtains, we have it all. Our shop is situated 18 kilometers south of Mombasa on the main road to the Tanzanian border.

All products are handmade from local hardwood using local labour without the use of electricity in any form whatsoever. We have been making furniture in this manner since 1991 and have exported to USA, Europe, Australasia and the Middle East. Our speciality is contemporary, rustic, driftwood and traditional African furniture that we make in our own workshops.
