The Cyprea Group of Companies came into existence with the incorporation of Cyprea Pvt. Ltd. in 1978. Although it was established to serve as a travel agency, the company was formed on solid ground, its foundation laid on the budding tourism industry. The company was formed with a vision; a vision of leading the way, clearing the path for greater things to come. The company from inception firmly focused on the travel and hospitality industry the company’s first milestone did not take long to reach.

The company acquired Kanifinolhu in North Malé Atoll for the development of a tourist resort in 1979. Cyprea Hotels and Travel Pvt. Ltd. was formed to manage and operate the resort. The newly formed company became the first IATA accredited travel firm in the Maldives.
