The Taylor Smith Group is a family owned business with interest in the port, logistics and distribution, services and manufacturing industries. With a team of 700 people across our business units, a preferred employer on the island offering high standards of professional services across our activities.

Spearheaded by our activities in the port over the past 100 years, the Taylor Smith Group is a dynamic organisation, with a reputation for excellence spanning throughout the industries we operate in. 

Founded in 1991 as a joint venture with Solco Ltd Australia, Duraco Ltée pioneered the manufacture of quality polyethylene products in Mauritius and specializes in the rotomoulding process. Our concern for the environment translates into action in the fields of water, sewer, renewable energy and environment friendly products.

All our businesses are either No 1 or No 2 in their industry, and are led by competent independent management reporting to a board. The common link between the companies is that the equity is held by Taylor Smith Investment Ltd. To an extent, our business model is one where we consider ourselves to be a type of long term private equity player, whose focus is driven by investing in innovative and sustainable businesses that can grow to become leaders in their sector of activity.
