Dunair is a premium, quality brand and market leader for aftermarket automotive air-conditioners in South Africa. Dunair has long established relationships with the South African Motor Plants and has plant product approval for almost every air-conditioning kit. Dunair products have applications for Ford, Nissan, VW, Toyota and General Motors vehicles. Dunair has an exceptional record in supporting the industry's expectations of vehicle air­ conditioning products and aftermarket accessories.

Dunair was originally established in January 1978 as an automotive air-conditioning company. Dunair's focus has always been on producing quality products for its customers.
 
Dunair soon developed its reputation as a premium, quality brand and as such has been the market leader for aftermarket automotive air-conditioners in South Africa for many years.
 
In 1986 Dunair was incorporated into Smiths Manufacturing and became a separate division within the company, but retained its autonomy design in terms of manufacturing and marketing its own range of products. 
 
Dunair is a recognised brand name, known throughout South Africa, which is testimony to the fact that Dunair does produce "superior car air-conditioning".

Dunair's Relationship with the Motor Plants   

Dunair has long established relationships with the South African Motor Plants and motor plant product approval has been awarded for almost every Dunair air-conditioning kit. Dunair products have applications for Ford, Nissan, VW, Toyota and General Motors vehicles; amongst others.Through such relationships, Dunair has been able to gain a better understanding of the industry's expectations of vehicle air-conditioning products and aftermarket accessories.

Dunair's Manufacturing Capabilities

Dunair's manufacturing facility is based within Smiths Manufacturing's premises in Durban, South Africa. As such, the components for Dunair's products are mainly sourced from Smiths Manufacturing and have, therefore, been manufactured to international quality standards. Dunair's facilities consist chiefly of production lines where components are assembled. Storage facilities housing the finished goods are also located on-site and an effective logistics network ensures that customers' needs are met.
 
As part of Smiths Manufacturing, Dunair must also meets the stringent quality standards that have been awarded to the company. Through our commitment to quality we have achieved internationally recognised quality ratings such as QS9000, ISO 14001 and VDA 6.1. For these ratings, Smiths is registered with Underwriters Laboratories, based in America, which conducts assessments throughout the world.
