The Nigerian lnstitute for lndustrial Security was founded in 2000 and registered in 2003. The lnstitute is governed by a council headed by the President Alhaji lsa Ozi Salami, the Ohi Otenyete of Ebira land. The Institute is charged with the general duty of promoting, protecting, encouraging and maintaining a high standard of Industrial Security study and practice.

The Institute is governed by a Council, which includes the Chairman of the Institute Board of fellows, 10 co-opted members representing various sectors of the economy, elected officials with Ozi Salami as President and Wilson Esangbedo as Executive Secretary.
