The scanners part of our automated data capture solutions are from Scantron USA. We offer high, medium and low-volume data processing scanners. Depending on the amount of documents that need to be processed, we recommend our clients the type of scanner that will meet their data capturing needs. The scanners are all equipped with sophisticated technologies to extract data from documents: data from bubbles (OMR), conversion of text from paper into machine editable text (OCR), conversion of hand written text into computer text (ICR), bar codes and image clips (e.g. signatures).
OMR forms
Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) forms are scannable forms. With the help of an OMR/ Imaging scanner it is possible to extract raw data from these forms (exported through Excel and CSV- files). Scannable forms are commonly used for exams, questionnaire’s, inspections, M&E’s, registrations and enrolments.
OMR software
OMR software can have different functionalities. First of all, any type of OMR utility software should be able to extract raw data from scannable forms and store it into a database. This raw data must consequently be converted into usable data for further processing. With the OMR utility software it is possible to export the raw data through an excel or CSV-file into another existing software application - e.g. in-house software or SPSS – or a customized OMR software program – e.g. question bank exam or survey software applications.
On request of clients, we can develop customized OMR software applications for the client to be able to capture the required data, convert it into usable information and use it for other purposes such as data analysis, student performance assessment, records management or strategic decision-making processes.
