Yahia Sayed Omar owner and President of YSO Import-Export established this organization in early 1969, and is considered one of the largest Private organizations in exporting Ethiopian Agricultural Products, mainly Spices, Pulses, Oil Seeds, and Natural Produce. With a location within the heart of the Ethiopian capital "Addis Ababa" & in the most strategic area of the business district - "MERKATO" - the largest open-air market in Africa. 

The organization employs 17 permanent personnel of managerial and secretarial levels, and during the harvest season, between 300 to 500 are employed on contract basis, supervised by strict quality control procedures to clean, pack and prepare quality commodities for the international market. 

Our own cleaning facilities are located in the town of Nazareth (99 Kms South-East Addis Ababa) on a land area of over 10,000 Square meters. In the first quarter of 2004, a second, up-to-date processing line was introduced for higher efficiency, quality and output to meet our increasing commitments world wide. Soon, we shall introduce HULLED Sesame seeds chemically processed utilizing high technology machines imported from Lebanon. 

With great emphasis to set the pace for more international acceptance of Ethiopian Natural Dry Ginger, YSO has set up its own one of a kind, Ginger Processing Center (YSOGPC) in November 2003. 

Output of this center is known as YSO Exclusive Quality. The processes of Machine dressing and Hand-picking for quality and grading purposes pass through special quality control phases with the quality control system being perfected increasingly

 We will devote our resources and talents towards enhancing our core strengths and activities. We envision international expansion as an inherent part of our strategy of exchanging resources between Ethiopia and the international markets in which we participate. Anticipated Joint Ventures With the new investment policies being implemented by our government, we encourage foreign partners to invest in various production and packing industries with us as well as in Ethiopia.
